Vegan Insomnia Cookies Taste Test
I recently learned from a Google ad that Insomnia Cookies sells vegan cookies. Here is what I think of them.
Introduction
I recently learned from a Google ad that Insomnia Cookies now sells vegan cookies. I was so excited that I bought some and picked them up while doing errands. I tried them six hours after I got them, so they weren’t warm and fresh like when most people have them.
Here is what I think of the vegan cookie options from Insomnia Cookies.
- Vegan Chocolate Chunk
- Vegan Double Chocolate Chunk
- Vegan Birthday Cake
- Vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte
Vegan Chocolate Chunk (9/10)
The vegan chocolate chunk cookie was superb. The chocolate chips were still moist six hours later. It would have been a gooey cookie if I had had it right away.
Vegan Double Chocolate Chunk (10/10)
The vegan double chocolate chunk cookie was perfect with its vegan milk chocolate creaminess and sweetness. It lacked a bitter dark chocolate taste, so I guess that they used Enjoy Life Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks to give the chocolate chunk and double chocolate chunk cookies their creamy flavor. It wasn’t as moist as the chocolate chunk cookie.
Vegan Birthday Cake (8/10)
The vegan birthday cake cookie would be similar to Funfetti or confetti cookies, except they tasted more like shortbread cookies (i.e., Girl Scout Trefoils/Shortbread). I’m not sure why that is. Maybe because of its hint of vanilla. Either way, I’m not that into funfetti cookies in general because they’re mostly sugary in terms of flavor.
Vegan Pumpkin Spice Latte (9/10)
The vegan pumpkin spice latte cookie was delicious. I could taste the pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and white chocolate, and they were a wonderful blend of fall in a cookie. I was surprised that it had no coffee taste until I looked at the cookie’s description and noticed that it didn’t have coffee or latte in it. The cookie’s name was deceiving because it made it sound like it would have a coffee taste in there.
Overall (9/10)
I enjoyed eating all of the cookies, but I liked the double chocolate chunk one the best. I regretted waiting so long to eat them because they would have been better fresh out of the oven. I would add more vegan flavors: snickerdoodle, gingerbread, peppermint, and double chocolate mint.
